Living in Australia

Getting up and running in a foreign country is never easy – and moving to and living in Australia is no different. You can make all the necessary arrangements you want to get you and your family down under – from applying for visas and buying plane tickets to finding work in Australia, and more – but the preparations don’t end once you’re finally on the plane and waving goodbye to the familiar South African landscape. So why immigrate to Australia then?

Australia is a vastly different world. It may seem familiar to us because of the moderate climate, passion for rugby and abundance of nature, but once you get past these details, you will find that the similarities end there. Australia offers a whole new lifestyle and community with government systems that are founded on different states and territories, each with their own unique characteristics. It stands to reason that immigrating to this beautiful and diverse country involves numerous factors that all need to be considered by prospective migrants to ensure that their transition to the land down under is as smooth as possible.

There's plenty of useful online information for those considering living in Australia as a potential. Here are a few platforms to get you started:

Australian Capital Territory
The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) is a self-governing territory in the southeast of Australia. The only city in the ACT is Canberra, the capital city of Australia.
Northern Territory
The Northern Territory is a place where anything is possible. You can change your lifestyle, boost your career or start a new business.
South Australia
South Australia is the southern, central state of mainland Australia. Its landscape varies from rugged outback wilderness and desert, including some of the aridest parts of the continent, to scenic mountain ranges and a coastline that stretches more than 3,700 kilometres.
Victoria
Victoria is Australia's smallest mainland state and its second-most populous state (after New South Wales) overall, thus making it the most densely populated state overall. Its capital, Melbourne, is often known as the sport capital of the world.
New South Wales
New South Wales is a major global and Asia-Pacific cultural hub. NSW is Australia's oldest, largest and most cosmopolitan state. It is also an economic powerhouse, with an economy larger than Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore. In addition to its cultural and economic strengths, the global status of NSW is underpinned by its international transport links, with over 1000 flights operating per week.
Queensland
Queensland is Australia's second largest state with a coastline stretching nearly 7,000km. It is home to the offshore Great Barrier Reef, the world’s largest coral reef system and its capital, Brisbane, is flanked by the surfing beaches of the Gold and Sunshine Coasts.
Tasmania
Tasmania is an isolated island state off Australia’s south coast and is known for its vast, rugged wilderness areas, largely protected within parks and reserves.
Western Australia
Western Australia covers the entire western third of the country and is made up mostly of the arid Outback. Its population is concentrated in its fertile southwest corner, home to the Margaret River wine region and the riverside capital, Perth. In the far north, the Kimberley region is home to ancient Aboriginal rock art, the Bungle Bungle sandstone domes and Broome, with Cable Beach camels and a pearling industry.
