Partner migration

The Partner Migration Program requires sponsorship by a fiancé, de facto spouse or partner living in Australia, you are assessed on the basis of your relationship to the sponsor.

The sponsor must be either an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen, and should usually be 18 years of age or older.

Partner Migration applicants are assessed on an individual basis and must be assessed against Australia's health and character requirements. Partner applicants can be sponsored for migration or permanent residence in one of the following visa categories:

Spouse; Prospective Marriage (Fiancé); or Interdependency. It is important that you understand the relationship requirements of the Partner Migration Program, including the specific types of evidence that should be provided to the Immigration Authorities. There are certain basic requirements what must be met in order to be eligible for this visa. Every case is unique and the documentary evidence required is extensive.
